• Responsible for ensuring sound and strategic planning, management and leadership of the human resources functions of the company as strategic partner to line managers for competitive advantage of the company
• Reports directly to the managing director
• Support and drive the vision of the company through strategic human resource interventions
• Develop and implement strategic human resource philosophy and practices that empower staff for optimum performance
• Develop and operate by sound human resource philosophy and practices that empower staff for optimum performance
• Research and advise management on performance, remuneration and labour negotiations
• Ensure sound industrial relations, industrial harmony and congenial work environment
• Ensure adequacy of qualified and competent staff
• Responsible for staff health, safety and environmental issues of the company
• Ensure discipline and maximum staff productivity of all employees
• Ensure all labour and administrative issues are handled strictly according to relevant labour laws and best practices
• Ensure that the company is an employer of choice in the industry
• Support all departments in their human resource needs

Qualification Required & Experience

• Master degree in Business Administration - Human Resource management or general management, law degree with expertise in industrial relations and labour laws or other related field with at least 5 years of relevant work experience or Bachelor degree in HRM, law or general management with at least 3 years of relevant experience (At least 2 of which must be at senior management level)
• Membership of and good current standing of a relevant professional organisation is desirable and an advantage
• Advanced knowledge in industrial relations, employee relations, and labour law and regulations - labour Act, 2003 (Act) and other workplace regulations and policies
• Expertise in at least 2 specialise human resource management areas including labour negotiations and dispute resolution and safety, health and work environment (SHE) issues.
• Excellent communication, listening, negotiation, dispute resolution and interpersonal skills
