Basic Function:
Responsible for planning and directing the resource necessary to develop and support the information systems for an assigned area of business.
 
Responsibilities:
Plans, schedules, assigns, and directs staff on technical and operational projects and during regular departmental activities.
 
Reviews the progress of projects and the work done by staff members to members to ensure that schedules and objectives are met.
 
Plans and coordinates projects involving software systems and/or applications in the assigned area.
 
Works with senior management to review objectives and procedures and formulate policies for the department.
 
Maintains effective communication between information systems personnel and the users of information services and systems.
 
Works to expand knowledge of banking and the business function being served.
 
Exercises the authority of a manager concerning staffing, performance appraisals, promotions, salary recommendations, and terminations.
 
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum of two years college with at least eleven years experience in management and a systems development environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
 
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline preferred.
 
Minimum five year’s management experience on large system enhancements, conversions and production problem resolution.
 
Requires a complete understanding of the system development life cycle and of the Bank’s enterprise architecture.
 
An understanding of multiple business area’s functions is preferred.
 
Requires familiarity with application development support software and hardware platforms.
 
Technical Knowledge and Skills:
Ability to effectively use project management, word processing and spreadsheet applications.
 
Excellent problem solving skills to assist in issue resolution.
 
Good understanding of the Bank’s application framework.
 
Familiar with application development software and hardware platforms.
 
Desired Qualifications:
Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to effectively present to the target audience.
 
Requires excellent analytical, organization, project, and time management skills, strong judgement, and anagement skills, and the ability to work effectively with clients and IT management and staff personnel.
